the screen size wont determine if it fits. If its a double din you should be good to go, the only thing you will need to change it from stock radio is the double din dash kit (this holds the aftermarket radio into the dash) and a harness to make your life easier.
You can check online for both, as i used Ebay and got a wicked deal.
i have a Clarion NX-501 and it is amazing! really cheap on Ebay also, you just have to look around a little and do the research.
the harness will be a stock to aftermarket harness for F150 2004-2008. If you get that, you wont need to cut your factory wires, which makes putting the original back in extrememly easy (if you were to ever sell the truck or remove the aftermarket one later)
Standard Metra 70-5520

thats the standard one (not sure if you have an amp or sub or not though)
this is the dash kit you'll need.

with the above 2 parts, and the Deck of course, you should be good to go...

hope that helps!

PS. What kinda f-150 do u have I like the stick
05 fx4, check out crutchfield I did everything myself with their kits. It's a lot easier than you might think. Amazon has some good deals too.
The head literally took me a 1/2 hour to install. Definitely get the harness, everything matches right up. I also put in new speakers with the matching adapters from crutchfield, and an 8" powered bazooka that fits right under my drivers side rear seat. It's an extended cab (super cab) if it matters.

What he ^^ means is if u have the factory sub and amp then u will need this ^^ part number. I'm guessing the OP has after market subs and amp witch he will need the first harness u listed. Just wanna make this clear

How or what did you do for the brake by-pass to work.

The F150 is a "double din" or D2 radio size. Almost all units will be either a D1 or D2. Any of the D2s will fit just fine. A D1 flip out screen will fit also, but will have a bin or something else to take up the space. Stick with a D2 set-up for the best factory look. I have a Pioneer AVIC-D3 and it has never let me down. The screen size of the individual units is strictly a personal decision on your part. Larger size usually means less button/***** but more screen touching/fingerprints.
