I bought a generic eBay camera (under 15 bucks), and put it right in the tailgate handle on my '05.

Ran the wires through the tailgate and underneath the truck, and wired it to a SPDT switch. One way taps into the reverse light trigger, so the camera turns on in reverse, the other way taps into a hot wire, so I can turn the camera on going forward. Center is off.

Finally, I ran it to my Pioneer HU. This gave me exactly the perspective and field of view I was looking for. Only thing is the backup lines are not totally accurate because the camera is not dead center; I'd turn off the lines if I could, but don't use them anyway!

Definitely one of the best mods I've done to my truck!

EBay! Best $25 I've ever spent. It's a wired camera with a 4.3" screen.I only bought one to make it easier on the wife when hitching up the TT

Do you have a link of the camera? I really like how yours looks.

Sure thing!
Try this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170-Wide-Ang...4AAOSwyTZUXZbE

I like the one I bought because it allows you to move the lens inside the housing, so you can position the camera's focal point and move it left/right to a degree.

Thanks for the link, I really like the idea of putting it in the tailgate! Did you have any problems with the installation?

Just some cheap camera that came with the Pioneer radio I ordered off EBay and made a bracket for it to sit on top of the trailer hitch. Not sure what the brand of the camera is and I'm not sure if that matters too much.
