i recently traded my 04 f150 supercrew 4x4 lariat i owned it 1yr 1month during which i had cam pazer problems low oil pressure the trans and torqure convertor were done as well as ball joints brakes electrical and many more problems to many to list. i got tired of it even with an exstended warranty not having my truck 1 week out of every month and still paying for it made me very angry. so i bought a mustang gt certified pre owned loved the car but after 1 month of owning the rear developed a noise to make a long story short i lost more than a month use due to ford "rebuilding the rear 5 times" then after it was still making noise louder than ever ford engineers told me no problem found and washed their hands of the car so i guess ford doesnt really care about the customer sounds to me like they would rather brush all the problems under the carpet so next week am trading the mustang back in on a roush mustang that is new and made on a wed then will get another truck same week for myself as the wife will get the stang
I suggest the two of you go buy a GM product. Perhaps now that they are exiting bankrupcy, done selling off dealerships, and a couple of their product lines, they will concentrate on their quality too.

Think my post may have confused some. I haven't checked the exact build date of my truck, but I do know it was built in 6/06. Whether or not it was built on 6/6/06, I do not know. I just worry that it was. Hope that clarifies my original post.
Says the man with one post to this forum.
Don't know if we'll hear from the one post wonder again. So we may not have to worry about puncuation from him anymore.
Amen borther!

2004 bad luck for me
I have 1998 bought in 1999 2 wheel drive. No major problems. A 2002 4 wheel drive extend cab long bed.I Special ordered the truck with all the goodies. Love in no major problems. Now for the bad. 2004 4 wheel drive another special order truck. I ordered it with everything I wanted now all I want is it gone. Nothing but trouble from day one. Transmission was first to go they rebuilt once then replaced. Rear end next rebult then replaced because they didn't get C clip on good. Lost axell going down the road. Next the motor blew up. Replaced at 50000miles. In between the major repairs include transfer case problems ,3 new calipers ,all 4 rotors ,lower controll arm ,stereo ,front axel, power window regulator ,numerous electrical issues. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. The truck has been in shop more than me driving it. Lol! Now first of all I will never be one to say that I am not hard on my trucks. I own my own buisness and buy the trucks for work and work them I do. I pull a lot of trailers and haul a lot of weight. I have to go off road with trailer load of equipment on new construction sites. So they see aloty of use and abuse but the 2004 never had the pulling power of the other trucks (all the 5.4) not sure why but not impressed with the new 3 valve motor. Truck has only 80000 miles on it now. A few more payments and it will be paid off and I can sell it and order anew one. Another F-150 just like the others is on the menue just hopefully without the headaches !
Good luck to all and I hope I don't scare anyone away from buying one. I think I just got a bad one. Ford always fixed everything under warrenty. Just kind of. Aggrevating paying payments on a fourty thousand dollar truck and it sitting in the shop all the time. Lol!

Just read your post about the battery going dead after transfer case issues. Here is a problem that I had. I slid the truck off the muddy road while backing trailer (fun to do in mud) truck hit hard underneith. Skid plates no problem. But after I got it out I started having simular problems with battery going dead. Took it to shop. After 3 weeks they figured out the problem. The transmission came up and pinched wireing harness between it and floor pan. Replaced the wires it has been fine since. Just a thought they might have done that while working on it. If they can't find the problem you might suggest that. Hope it helps. Good luck ,Don
