Left signal light flashing very fast....why?

Hey mpd556, I checked the blinker fluid, and it's topped right up, proper density, and it's whistle clean too.
But all serious now, I did find the problem, and it was.......the bulb. I guess at some point when I checked for power, the ground plug on my probe must have lost contact. That's why I thought there was no power other than the running light. The bulb itself looked perfectly fine...no broken filaments, so Venatic, your comment was right on. As for polarity, this bulb doesn't matter which way it goes into the socket. There must be something in the flat plastic base that automatically detects which filament needs more power (brake) as opposed to the running light.
