So then i just simply use that one as my hot and ground the other three (if necessary on that strip)? I figured members had used/wired these up before and more people would have an input...

Then you could put a switch on each ground wire and you could turn on the red, green or blue channel or what ever combination you like.

if you just want to turn on each color individually then yes you wire the hot wire to your source and then use a switch to connect each of the three other wires to ground. so you would need some kind of 4 position switch so you could have and off position with three other positions for each light

So what if i want to use the RGB feature to have the colors cycle through and all that?

Ok well I went back and reread this and I put way to much though into it. The lights you are looking at come with the controller and a remote. You just plug the rgb strip into the controller and then wire the power to the controller. It will just be 2 wires a hot and ground. You will use the remote to pick the color. Its 12v so just cut off the wall wart and use the plug.

I think I am going to order two rolls, should be enough for what I want to do. When they come in, I will be able to look at what exactly I'll be working with and can come up with a plan.. I already have a switch installed so that will cut down on installation
