Default Led question!!

I just bought two led light strips, it says on the box that they are 12v power, but i wanna try hookin em up to the speakers so they'll light up to the beat of the music can this be done just like that or will i need more than that?

You will need a controller for them to light up to the beat of the music. Your speakers are getting 12v constant when on. It does not fluctuate due to the beat. So if you hooked them up to your speakers they will be on when your stereo is on.

if you have subs, you could hook them to the ports for the speaker wire (that goes to the sub box from amp) and they will pulse with the music, thats how mine are hooked up.

I dnt have subs, could i hook em up to RCA jack ports on my head unit?

No. You will have to buy a controller for it to work properly.

I looked into doing the same thing for a while and all I could find was doing it for the subwoofer. Guess if we want it for the door speakers we gotta pay up and buy the controller if we want them to strobe with our door speakers. Dang.
