I had to probe around with my meter to find a switched fuse. If you use a probe with a sharp point you can check the fuses on the metal spots on the back while installed. I ended up plugging in to one of the 5 amp fuses

You don't have the manual telling you what each of the fuses are for? I ran my under dash lights to the fuse for power windows and moonroof.

I would just wire tap them into the dome light wire. They will come on when you open a door, unlock the doors, or with the dome light switch. I don't really see the need to have them on while you are driving anyways.
I used the dome light wire in the kick panel for my puddle lights.

If you look in the How To section here, Bucko has a writeup.

What did you use for your running board lights and how did you mount them? Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread....

Same thing as in the first post. Waterproof LED strips with adhesive backing on them. I cut them to length, soldered and heat shrinked the wires, and ran them through the grommet in the floor, and tapped the dome light wire in the drivers side kick panel. They held up great, but one side got a little moisture in the connection, and has started to flicker. I would put a dab of silicone over the connections to make them last longer.
For the next question that I'm sure you have...
