Last year for Triton?
Just had my 04 4x4 totaled and will be replacing soon but I never want to fool with the breaking plugs on that engine. So my question is, what year did Ford move away from that deep well break apart plug. I've also got an 02 F150 with a 4.6 that uses standard plugs and had #3 plug blow out of the head same day the 04 was totaled. I fixed that with a heli coil. I drive a vette, the trucks belong to my wife. I maintain all vehicles.
Thanks for any insight!

I think 09 was the last year for the 5.4. I think most 2008 have newer plug style.

new heads and plugs were in engines built after 10/07

Not big deal to,replace plugs anymore with lisle tool. But yes these 5.4 engines were used in the f150 through 2010. Then the5.0 replaced it, well actually replaced by the 6.2. Depending on budget, get an 09 or newer for the better transmission with 6 speeds and much larger rear seat in the screw. For a few thousand more get the 5.0 for better mpg and more mid range power.... From a 2011.
