Krylon is magic
So i went ahead and took all the plastic cowling and bed rails apart and hit them with some Fusion Matte Black for plastics.
i was scared to pull to hard to get the bed rails off at first but yanked pretty hard and thankfully nothing broke. Under the rails was 10 years of filth. took me about 20 minutes each side with a power washer and a scrubbing brush to get through the stuff that was caked on.
Also replaced the rubber pieces on each side of the cowling. the old ones were literally just sitting there. the "claws" that held them in place were both completely gone...gravity was the only thing hold them in. lol

Looks good! Show some pics on the truck if you have them. I bought the paint last week and am just looking for motivation to do it. I have to find a free Saturday because football is taking over my Sundays

as far as the bed caps, the inside of the sides (if that makes sends need to be unhooked from the bottom then you can walk around the side of the truck and pop them all the way off. i started at the back and moved my way forward.
the tailgate piece needs to come off from the outside in.
after i was done, i couldnt get it all back on perfectly so i need to work on that at some point.
