Changed out plugs, swapped COPs, injectors, and VCTs between banks, and scanner indicates that it is only running on bank 2 at idle. Confirmed by unplugging injectors on cylinders 1-4 and found no difference at idle. When revved past 1500, it clears up and runs great. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a good deal. I brought an 2004 lariat with 290K that was poorly running for 3K this past September. It ran ok till about Dec/Jan. then it started doing the same things your truck is doing. I didn't put much money in trying to fix it cause of the miles, I have just been saving up for a good used motor. Good luck on your journey.

Step #1 - Rear bumper and bed removed. Had to use the blue wrench and the grinder on the bed bolts. I have never seen so much dirt laying on / in a frame before.

Can't wait to see this one come together and glad you kept it out of a graveyard. For that price it was a hell of a deal and I would probably put in some kind of powerstroke just to make it really unique.

I made a thread about putting a navigator 5.4 4v in mine. You could always do that.

Nice start to the project. Did the same thing, buying a used truck with high miles and replacing the motor. It's been a fun project.

Pulled seats and carpet yesterday. All cab mount bolts removed. Need to remove front bumper and core support bolts, and then the cab will be ready to be lifted off of the frame.

This truck was filthy. I can't understand why people don't clean up after themselves.
