Yes to all your 1.Stock-2.Tow-3.Preformance- questions!
You can make changes to each level.
Yes you can firm up the shifts and you can really feel it!
Is it worth the money "Yes and No"......for me it nice to know what's going on with your Trans. and motor Temps. as it's got a readout display.
You can play with your factory setting if you want to or just set it to the "Canned tuned settings" and forget it, so it's more of a toy.
A lot of the guys here have played with the settings, you can adjust the timing the shift points, the speed by changing the tire size.
As far as getting better gas mileage, well I haven't heard of any real changes in gas mileage, like I said it's a toy you don't really need one..but it's nice to have one.IMHO
I'm glad I have one! I haven't tried the 3rd level because the price of premium gas, you will need to run it on premium gas for that level. I just leave mine on level 2 Tow. It shifts a little harder and runs a little stronger then stock.
You can make changes to each level.

I've got the edge evolution in my 08' lariat and ive honestly had nothing but problems with it. I have a k&n cai installed and one of my issues is that the evolution doesnt have a setting to tell the programmer that you have a cai and it messes up sometimes. I've also had a few instances where I turn the truck on and as soon as I put it in gear the engine goes into safe mode and the transmission freezes up real bad. i just stopped running it programmed. probably going to sell it and invest in a newer/more advanced one that doesnt screw with my tranny

also just re read your post and noticed you were asking about the programming levels. for the short amount of time i had it working well I ran it in towing and it was great. makes the truck way more fun to drive. jumps when you hit the gas, more power, all that good stuff

Keep mine in 1 about 90% of the time. This thing is really stuttery at times in #2 running either 87 or 89. Havn't used #3 yet. I like the little power increase in 2 but the stuttering at times drives me crazy so I have been keeping it in #1 for the GREAT improvement in the transmission. Far firmer and quicker in what the programmer starts with. Smooth with a trailer and quite firm empty.
