Default Keyless Entry help

I have a 2005 f-150. I have Keyless entry but my fob doesnt work very far away at all. I replaced the battery but it only works about 15 or 20 feet away at best. My old truck would work about 50 or 80 feet away. Any advice?

This sound really strange, but:

You can increase the range of the key fob by holidng it tight under your chin. Try it. It works. I think your body acts as an extra antenna.

Default Keyless

I think mine works around 25-35 feet max. Battery does not seem to make a difference. I've tried both of them with similar results.

FWIW I have been disappointed with the range. It is about half as far as my last vehicle.

I was wondering if there is anyway to find the antenna in the truck and maybe move it to a better location or to just boost its power somehow. Anybody know

My '06 had terrible range as well, but my '08 works from very long range. Odd, perhaps it's something to do with the antenna location....the short range was a pain though.
