Kentrol is crap don't buy their junk!!!!
Just in case you have a jeep
I bought the stainless wiper arms. I had them installed on my wife’s wrangler. I was driving in snowy conditions. All of the sudden the passenger side wiper arm stopped moving. I stopped as quickly as I safely could and removed the wiper arm and limped home 15 miles with one wiper arm. When I got home I found the O.E.M wiper arms and promptly swapped them with the Kentrol arms. Then I messaged 4WD (where I purchased the wiper arms from) I was told by 4WD that there was a problem with the arms and the Kentrol was redesigning them and would send me a replacements when they were available. I told 4WD at the time that some damage had occurred to the pivot but I thought it was not too bad. Several months had passed, I was about to send an e-mail and say any word on the replacements when I found them on my door step. (as always great C.S. from 4WD) I promptly put them back on. Then the other week now it happened again passenger side stopped moving, my wife was driving and in traffic and couldn’t get to the side of the road to take off. (snowy conditions and a 3 lane highway in heavy traffic.) When she got home I swapped them out again only this time the spline’s on the pivot are stripped off and no longer does the O.E.M. wiper arm move. I promptly messages 4WD who was going to contact Kentrol and see what to do. Kentrol decided that it is not their fault and is not going to fix my pivot that their product destroyed. According to Kentrol they authorized 4WD to credit my account for the arms but will not/did not offer anything to fix my Jeep, not even pay for the parts. I have not seen a statement from my CC so I can neither confirm nor deny this action. If you are running these parts I suggest removing them now before you have to drive around with one wiper arm.

What I think occurred is you did not have them bolted down tight enough and they moved enough to strip the splines... I don't understand how bad arms would cause the system not to work.

Well there are no bolts to tighten. basically you lift the blade at the hinge point and slide a retainer clip that fits into a dtent and then you pull straight off. You need no tools to remove there is nothing to tighten.
