Default K&N vs. Spectre

I am in the market for getting a new intake for my truck. I am wondering what the differences are between K&N and Spectre. I have read good and bad on both. and there is a brand that has the blue filter, i believe the brand name is afe.

Your stock intake flows more air than your engine needs, a cold air intake does nothing but make it louder. Research is your best friend. In my opinion, they are both junk and will foul your MAF since they are oil impregnated. If you want a little more sound and a lot less money, research the Gotts mod and drop in a AEM dryflow air filter.

We'll see. I have a K&N 57 series FIPK and an SCT X4 tuner on the way to the house right now. I'll research it on my own truck.

I am in agreement with this. The AEM dry filter is the way to go. I originally got the spectre kit and simply bought an AEM dry filter for it.

I currently have the Gotts mod and AEM dryflow, along with an Edge Evolution. Mid 6 second 0-60 runs are the norm.

Anyone who believes a oil coated filter in front of a MAF is a good idea is foolish. But hey, its your truck and your loss.
