K&N killing MAF???
On my 2005 5.4L F150 4X4, I just got to help Ford out of it's hole by paying wayyyy toooo muchhhh for a servicing. It had been running pooorly and the diagnosis was a bad MAF sensor. The "service manager" told me that a possible cause of this is the oil from the K&N filter coats the sensor and makes it go bad. Anyone else ever hear this or is this BS??

No doubt some K&N bashers will have fun with this, but your service manager is ill advised. Print out the information from the link below (it came straight from K&N's web sites frequently asked questions). They will stand behind their product and offer the dealer to send the so called "failed MAF from oil" to them for testing. It has never been found to be the case.

I had a service manager tell me that once with my Mustang and I told him to back up his facts and it quickly went from "that's what happened" to "it's a possibility"
So yeah, I call BS.
MAF's do go out now and then but not from a K an N
