the tuner you get might say you haver a large bump in mpg. calculate your mpg on a calculator. the tire weight will take a bit of torque, unless you had 10 ply when you got it. gotts mod and the motor craft filter work just fine for me. I clean the maf (with mad cleaner) when I change the filter. tuner will be the biggest bang for the buck. Not trying to burst your bubble, but you probably will not get a huge mpg gain.
Biggest benefit you have is a "light foot". I have heard people with a light foot get the gains from running a tow tune (with a light foot, but that will be hard to keep light because the exhaust will sound so good).
Have fun

Thanks for all the replys, Im going to run just the gotts mod, K&N, and Edge for this week untill my exhaust comes in. If the addition of the exhaust seems to hinder it in any way Ill take it back off and replace with stock.

Totally agree. My K&N drop in filter has been perfect. Clean it every year and put it back in. It's paid for itself several times now.

Sounds like a drive train issue.

I have spouted the same info as you just stated till I am blue in the face, but heck no its definitely GOT to be K&N's fault, nobody would over oil the filter.

I have had a K&N CAI on my current truck shortly after I bought it new back in 06 and have NEVER EVER had any problem with it causing me any grief or problems. It's amazing what reading the very "easy to read and follow" directions can do or not do.

The problem i was having with my filter, was snow was going right through it and throwing a MAF code. Clearly it's letting way too much stuff into my engine. So, nope, not for me. Put a paper filter back in and haven't had a single issue since.

In running an "open" K&N filter on my Harley, it came with a mesh type sock to put over it if it was raining hard. This could be a solution for you with the snow.

But if the stock paper filter keeps out the snow, then thats a better solution in your case.

I never ran my K&N in the snow, so I wouldnt know why snow getting in is a problem. I repalced the Gotts mod and K&N drop in with a Roush intake. My personal preference, sounds better, feels a bit more powerful, and cleans up the engine bay. HOwever on the exhaust side of things with people mentioning the loss of backpressure with a 3" system.... You will not lose back pressure due to pipe diameter if you are still running stock cats. There is a very well written thread on here explaining how back pressure works. If you can't find it for some reason, just remember, "the party is over at the cats".

Im pretty sure its just my stock exhaust vibrating from the higher rpms and exhaust flow. I have that banks 3" single out coming in next week, should fix the issue.
