Default just bought my truck... have a few Q's...

just bought an '07 F150 crew cab XLT. so far it's fantastic. given i literally just bought it this morning, but first impression im loving it.

i'm new to ford and trucks in general as well, i just wanted to know what i can expect as far as reliability in the long run and what kind of problems if any i can expect past the 100k mile mark.

any other advice is greatly appreciated. thanks.

If you keep up with regular maintenance, you will be fine.Did you have the plugs changed yet?At some point they will need to be changed. The sooner, the better.Pretty much the most Major thing ford did wrong in our 5.4/3valved engine(if thats the one you have)was to install 2piece plugs that can break off in the heads.Maybe check to make sure you have your iwe solenoid covered up.What tends to happen is that water gets on that part(its the solenoid right behind the battery)and can cause the hubs to engage when not in 4wd,thus causing damage to your hubs.If you get a cold whistling sound(if it gets cold there)don't worry as its normal as it just wind passing thru the alternator and doesn't do any damage to your motor. The truck will last you well past the 100k mark if you just keep up with the maintenance.

thanks for the tips. i have the smaller engine though, the 4.6L and mines 2WD. so i wouldn't have to worry about the problem with the plugs?

Congrats on the new truck, you're going to love that thing. I think since you have the smaller engine you'll be alright. I have only heard of it with those with the 5.4L.

Congrats on the truck. A friend of mine has an 02 with the 4.6 and it's been a good truck. 140,000 plus.
