I all I recently upgraded from a ranger to a f150 and I have a slight issue I thought maybe someone could shine a light on. For some reason the parking brake idiot light on the dash lights up for the first 5-10 miles I drive, I've tried engaging the brake and release and no dice today I tried tapping the dash to see if the solder joint came loose nothing there either. How worried should I be having the 4.6l triton motor I've read some thing about the plugs shooting out of the head. My truck is a 2008 stx super cab is there any things I need to look out for or tricks to this truck? I had a 08 ranger regular cab 2.3l but after having it sense brand new had to get someday little bigger due to LIFE lol Any and all suggestions, info or advice is well appreciated Thanks Jesse

Check the switch at the e-brake pedal. There's a wired connector there that operates the light on the cluster when the brake pedal is pressed. It is a spring switch that simply completes the ground for this warning light circuit.
You'll want a flashlight to look up at it, and you'll be crawling up into the drivers foot well area to the left.

Will these trucks throw that light if the brake fluid is low? My old T-100 would do that as well as my little mazda protege

Cool thanks. I would check your fluid level then!

Also with the 5.4L. The older 5.4L blew out spark plugs, the ones in our trucks hold on to them. 6 of my plugs broke when they were changed at 100k miles.

The 4.6 is a 300,000 mile motor. Coil packs go bad between 200,000-250,000. Alternators and starters and waterpumps can last about that long too. Do the regular maintainance and you shouldn't have any problems with the internals

With only 105k on the odometer I'll be good for a while, I was just checking if there is any known issues
