I just dont want to waste money on trying to fix it. I wish I knew a 100% way to tell what it is.

Wouldnt it throw a code if it was a spark plug or COP?

It seems like you have two different noises going on... one I have and one I don't. Don't have the light put put sound on mine, which almost sounds like exhaust leak. I do have the tapping noise, most prevalent from listening under passenger wheel well. Bought the truck this year with 99k on it and haven't tried to open it up yet, but from all the other videos and writeups on this forum it is seemingly the phasers.

I also get the water drips from the tailpipe (not concerned with this) but I have also just recently started noticing oil dripping. It seems to be beading around the front end bolts of the oil pan. I am hoping its not rear main seal..... maybe could just be oil pan gasket?

Curious if you looked any further into your oil leak.

If I run it and unplug the VCT Solenoid will it hurt anything leaving them unplugged?
