Id like to know if anyone has installed a set of JBA shortys an their 5.4 and if so was it worth it .

I have them on my 2005 Lariat. Like them, but would never pay full price for them. I think most on this forum would recommend long tubes or stock manifolds. Not much to be gained from shorty headers. I only picked them up because I found a great deal on Craiglist, and the factory manifolds on my replacement engine were cracked.

I installed JBA Shorty headers on a 67 Mustang , 94 F150, and 72 Jeep CJ5. Noticed best effect on initial start-from-stop. I had better smoother response on the low end ---

They did not give me significant perf increase on the jeep for competition, so replaced with a long tube.

I will most likely put JBA shorty on my 2012 F150 later this year.

My soap box comment: Headers (shorty or long) ain't gonna do S**T by themselves. You install headers to increase exhaust movement. They do that. But you get better performance increasing intake of air as well and then tuning fuel, timing, etc. And don't forget an unrestricted exhaust pipe behind the headers

Thanks guys, I understand air in without air out = nothing and doing one mod without doing the other the gains are often not worth it. I think me manifolds are cracked so im looking to the after market instead of stock which could fail again.

I'm running gibsons shorty headers and the sound is a little louder, maybe some more low end torque but I regret not getting long tubes

LOL. War*****, Save the excuses for girl friend, Mom/Dad, wife, etc. On our forum you can do it cuz ya wanna !!!

PLUS if those stock manifolds are not cracked you might be able sell them .... helps offset cost of replacement

I have JBA headers and exhaust on my 2005 5.4L and have had nothing but problems.
3 cracked headers so far. My opinion is to skip JBA. I'm still trying to find a fix for my situation.
