Default wipers and washer quit working

My wipers and washers died last night on my way home from work I have scoured the forum looking for the answer and this is where I stand my truck is an 08 Screw xlt with 46,000 miles all functions on the switch work except for the wipers and the washers. The wipers made a half cycle before they died any advice?

Well it did work until I tried to use the washers again I have since replaced the washer pump and about 5 fuses trying to figure this out. I have read about the gem module but not exactly sure where it is. Also my stereo seems to have an internal short could this be related at all?

Probably. I'd take off your steering column trim and take a good look at all the wiring to make sure a wire hasn't become worn and is shorting out. That could happen anywhere in the system, but I'm thinking the steering column just because it gets moved the most. I hate electrical problems. Good luck.
