Time to go to a reputable dealer with a reputation for good mechanics.

Apparently no one there knows what they are doing. Yes they are just throwing parts. This is not how proper diagnosis is done.

Lets revisit this. I think there is some shady **** goin on.

Wednesday I took the truck to Cottman transmission to have the trans checked and what happened there boiled my blood.

He grabs his scan tool and hooks it up to the truck
He starts the truck
He revs the truck
He hands me the computer

IT DETECTED TWO ****IN RANDON MISFIRES AND WE DIDNT EVEN LEAVE THE ****IN PARKING LOT! I AM PISSED! Now mind you, my dealer said they checked the coils twice and they found no problems in the ignition system

His scanner detected 2 more misfires on our 30 minutes drive. During our conversation he couldnt figure out why my dealers high dollar equipment didnt detect them but his lower level did. He also couldnt figure out why they changed the body mounts

Billy at Cottman even said that he would go to bat for me and have my dealer call him to report his findings...and I went there for their FREE trans check! I hand him 50 bucks and leave

I head straight to my dealer and while explaining our newly found misfire, I lost my composure and started yelling when they called BS. I gave them 2 options, fix it or I want out of the truck and WILL pay whatever Legal fees I have to.

The next day I decided to call the sales guy who I dealt with and tell hum the same. He explained that they couldnt take the truck back and pay the loan off because the loan is in my name. Then he explained that I have a Ford warranty and not a warranty that the dealer give and could of taken this truck to any Ford dealer and had it fixed.

He also assured me that they are actually replacing parts and "looking for stuff to go wrong" because they are gettin payed like it was coming out of my pocket. So 75 dollars an hour shop rate and parts cost!

He also said the only way I can get out od this truck is to trader it in on another truck. I told him, "not a ****in chance". I still owe 9600 on it and youll probably only give me 12k for it. No ****in way!

So now it's hard for mew not to think that they are milking money from Ford on this truck. Even the one sales rep said they have logged "alotta hours on that truck".

I dont know what to think right now. I may bring it to another Ford dealer and see if their scanner will show the misfires, because my dealer says Fords program might have a higher tolerance to misfires than 'Ole Billy at Cottmans.

Might be time to call Fords corporate office, apparently the dealer needs a kick in the butt. What I thought was cool on the ford focus website I was on ford had people scan the site for issues like this and would help settle these issues.

I have an appt with a highly reputable dealer on the 18th to look the truck over. They cant understand why my dealer didnt find the misfire because he said if Cottmans detected it, so would theirs.

He also cant believe they havent found the problem with the amount of times it's been back.

I thought it strange, probably not worth mentioning, you said in the origional post the pre sets on the radio were unchanged. On my truck when I unhook the battery, which I do any time I work on the engine, the radio goes to default settings. One would think they would unhook the battery when doing the kind of work they were. Just an observation.

Since you know missfire, shouldnt it be easy to fix now. Only a few things that cause that right??
