Wink Its getting kind of ridiculous.....Update

well as everyone knows i was getting quite possibly the worst fuel efficiency ever on my 5.4....well i put a k and n filter in,did my oil change with royal purple and a k and n oil filter, changed the fuel filter and cleaned the MAF Sensor...also uses lucas fuel system treatment...well after my first tank of gas thru the truck like this the gas mileage has gone from 7.5 mpg to about 10.5 mpg on city streets (and this is with some minor beating up on it..lol)..so as of right now im a lil happy...and hoping to see even more of an improvement for my next tank that i put thru it and ill baby it a lil more...so just figured id give ya an update and see what you guys thought...

Default Sea foam

I had egr problems and bad fuel mileage. I took someones advice and bought a can of sea foam from O'Reileys Auto Parts and followed the directions on the can. It is so far the best 7.99 I have spent as the missing at full throttle has stopped, the check engine light has gone off and I have gained about 1.5 mpg. Thanks for the advice!

I let my wife take my truck to work and on the way home she put some gas in it from murphys usa. (Walmart) They have ethanol in all of their gas, 87, 89, and their 91octane. I barely got 12 mpg with it. It was a big waste of $70. I run 87 oct gas from a casey's down the steet and get 15mpg. Stay away from the ethanol crap!! It's horrible for fuel milage. I have been going from station to staion to see where I get the best gas from and the caseys here was the best I could find. I have another station that I was going to but i normally got about 13.5 mpg. I never thought there would be that much difference in one station from another.

Tell me about it. I live in Delaware and every gas station had 10% ethanol in all the octanes. I hate it!! If i go to Maryland to fill up with regular (no ethanol) gas, i get an easy 2mpg increase. I would rather save some greenbacks than save the environment in the midst of the crappy economy.

Most stations around me, in Baltimore, have the 10% ethanol gas too. It is a pain in the *****, but you can't get away from it most of the time in the winter. Can't wait for the Spring gas to arrive at the stations.

I run the ethanol crap, and I get 16 average, actually got 18.4 on the highway going to work this morning. I have the 5.4 and get my 10% ethanol at BP.

I live in Boston, do mostly city/hwy combined and only get 14 mpg with the 10% eth. You are so lucky to get those numbers!!
