Default Interior lights don't come on when door opened

Hello guys! I have not been here in a while but I need help, please. I have a 2006 F150 Lariat Ext Cab and my interior lights don’t always come on when the door is opened and also I noticed that my lock button doesn’t work. The truck will lock once I get into driving as it normally does. I checked the fuse and they all look good. I did some searching online and found that someone in this forum found the fix. It was a purple wire that’s spliced on the rear driver side pillar. I haven’t looked yet because their issue was the lights not turning on and it didn’t mentioned anything about the locks so I’m not sure if this purple wire affects the locks too…? To add to my issue, my lights do sometimes turn on (flickers) but most of the time it doesn’t. The door ajar warning does still show though… Anyways, thanks in advance for any help.

Here is the link of the fix I was talking about in case someone needs to see it:

wire bundle between your door and cab...pull the rubber back and look for a chaffed wire

Not sure the purple wire is your only problem...double check the door jam switch also..

In the door jam on the cab side..when you open the door the switch releases and triggers the cab lights.. don't know if this would effect your door locks though.

Yeah... Still no idea whats going on with my truck. I got home from work and started working on my truck. I followed the link I posted about the purple wire and I did find some purple wires but none of them were spliced and where in good shape. I went ahead and checked the fuses again just in case I missed something and nothing new to report there either. As far as the driver side door goes, it'll unlock and lock with the wireless key fob but it will not lock using the lock button. The passenger side works like it should though... I think I'll take this one to the mechanic to figure out. I work on my truck as far as oil changes, fuel filter and what not but this is above me now. In fact, I'll just make things worst by tinkering around and I'll probably end up messing something else up. I already broke a plastic thing that holds down that floor sill thing (what protects the wires and where it meets with the floor carpet). I don't even know if I can even order that part. Any ways, thanks all! if you have any other ideas, don't be shy to post.
