Does instrument cluster send info to the pcm? Because mine is broken and am having problemes with my shifhting..

The instrument cluster receives information from the PCM, such as the speed sensor input for odometer operation, and input from the PCM to light the CEL when an engine code failure happens.

I'm not aware of anything that the cluster would provide to the PCM that would cause shifting failures though.

What type of shifting failures? 4x4? automatic transmission?

When you say broken do you mean that the speedometer doesn't work? If so you may have an issue with your vss being faulty causing your issues
