Installing Ford tailgate emblem camera
I have a 08 Lariat and I am installing a tailgate emblem camera for my Gentex/Ford rcd mirror. Does anyone know if the factory emblem can be removed and the camera installed without opening up the tailgate? And, how does the emblem camera secure to the tailgate?

I have not begun due to the extensive rain here in Phila. From what I've researched there are guide holes in the tailgate but I may have to put a square like hole in for the camera that is attached to the emblem. Did you install yours?

No I have not, there is a guy on f150 online did it on an 07 and had a few picks to prove it, but he wont respond to me. I dont understand how to secure it like you were asking. I have taken the panel off the gate and there is no way to get down to where the ford oval is. As you were saying you will for sure have to drill a hole in the gate for the camera. If you have any luck, please send me a message, thanks
