Yep, I have the connectors from Ford you are referring to. Just a matter of where they tie in, which I think I understand now (thanks FOMOCO). Going to give it one more try tonight. After that, keep an eye on Ebay for a deck and sub.

i dont think you will have the plug at all. i only comes in the trucks that are built with the system from the factory. just like your deck didnt have the plugs you had to get another one. good luck with it

One thing I am certain on though is no "regular cab" truck will have the wiring in place from the factory; a rear seat is needed to mount the audiophile unit.

hey tech
tech.... where does the factory iring get the power and the ground from? all the wires that come from the HU go to the kick panel, and go into the plug, I can make a harness and then match up the pins to make it plug and play... but where does the power and ground come from when factory wired? we almost need a test mule to trace the wires from the pig tail on the factory system to the white plug in the kick panel, then we'd all know where to wire from.... any takers, all you'd have to pull up is the threshold, and trace the wires up the track to the driver kickpanel, then to the engine side plug in the kick panel on the opp side of the plug in the pic.

the sub stops here
I tracked down the factory sub wiring, it goes to the driver side kick panel and goes into the white plug (with a bolt in the center)and then stops.(for those without the sub plug in the back of the cab.) the female side of the plug can be pinned and wired for the sub, with out having to run the wires from the HU back. just finish the wiring like the factory did. you will still need to run a power (factory is a 15 amp fuse from the battery) and a ground (screw spot already there under the carpet). Going to do mine from there and see what happens.
Look at the main wire loom behind the driver kick panel, you will see what looks like a thick black wire (4 wires wrapped alone) this comes from the back of the HU. The wires go into the upper left of the white plug as it's mounted in the truck. the female side unlocks with a flathead after two tabs are released, plug pushes back and then gets worked out.(hood latch needs to be moved aside to get to this area)

Just to ask this since this thread is still on topic, is this an unsafe assumpution based off what we see/read here that even the trucks that came with the 6disc and have 3 plug in's may not have the sub wiring? I know my Lariat has the 3rd female connection in the HU but have not bothered to look for the factory plug under the rear seat.
