Installing Amp with stock radio....HELP!
I just recently bought a 2004 extended cab F150 and I want to put my old sound system into my truck without taking out the stock radio. I really like the 6 disc cd changer. Anyway I already have my subs (2 12' MTX), the box to fit under the backseat, and my amp (MTX 250 watt Road Thunder RT251D). I personally have not installed anything like this b/4 so I was wondering if anybody could could explain to me how I needed to go about wiring my amp to the radio. Any advice would help Thanks

small engine tech.
If im not mistaken your stock radio should have a red and white rca jack jack on the back that will plug into the amp. I replaced my stock radio (am/fm) with a 6 disc changer. I thought i saw them on the back but i have been wrong in the past.

dont know about the 6 disc head unit as i dont have one but the stock head unit i have doesnt have any rca outputs. to hook up your subs/amp to the stock head unit you will need a hi/lo converter

Your amp has speaker level inputs, just tap into your existing rear speaker wires for the signal. Run power to battery, ground to truck chassis, remote turn on to keyed 12v source in fuse box, adjust the gains and enjoy.

Get yourself a wiring kit, a hi/lo converter and a line driver (if you want the best possible sound quality w/ out going crazy! Then it is just running the wires and finally PLUG AND PLAY! Not that hard!
