Information on PCM Reflash for 04 f150
Hey guys just a quick question for all yall
I was wondering if any of the Ford techs here know what all is updated on a PCM reflash. Currently I have a low idle while stopped at a red light (400-500RPM). I'm wondering if a PCM reflash will correct this. I've already done everything I can think of to do on my own (cleaning MAF and Cleaning Throttle body, Checking electircal connections etc etc). I've come to the conclusion that it's probably the PCM just telling the truck not to put the idle as high as it should be. Am I right? This is becoming a problem because my truck will die while backing up or parking, pretty much anything at an idle that involves turning the wheel.
So here's the question
Do I need a PCM reflash/update?
If not what should I be looking to do to fix this?

I had the same problem.... there is a TSB for it... however, if it is doing it with your level 2 tune, then a reflash will only help it when it is at a stock tune. I had it done and it corrected it at stock tune.

do you have the tsb #? is it specific for PCM reflash for a low idle?

ok guys i'm pretty sure that whatever is causing this is a bad PCM or IAC, however if the IAC is controlled electronically will I still be able to remove the motor from the tb and see if it moves?
This article says that if I disconnect the IAC I should be able to see it moving when its not connected to the TB

am I right or is this a hopeless attempt?

ok but shouldn't something still be moving the throttle plate when the truck is turned to the "ON" position? Just like the IAC is said to do in the article I posted?
