What are the steps/ways of changing the VCTs and phasers. I don't know what they are but I know where they are and FORD has it at the moment because of a ticking sound in the front of the engine. I brought it to them Because the engine is under warranty and I would like to know for the future because warranties don't last forever.

Mine ticks on cold start up and goes away after awhile 
It is not a constant tick, more like a morse code sound? I read it sounds like tensioners but what does that mean and is that something that needs fixed asap?

Update!: i took it to my people at my local stealership and confirmed it is an exhaust manifold leak where the stud has broken off. Taken it back thursday for the 865$ repair. I will keep yall updated if anything else happens.
