Impact sparkplug removal, 5.4 3V
So far I've only done the #1 cylinder. What's the gap supposed to be, .039? I think this is a wee bit bigger than that. truck has ~73k on it. Warm engine impacted it out with no problem. I think these might be original given the wear. Probably the cause of my cold engine off idle misfire.

#2 came out looking the same. I'm not going to do any more for now as I don't have the Lisle tool here. However, I think impacting them out on a warm (not hot) engine is the way to go. I bought two new plugs from Napa (~$30). Comparing old to new, I'm positive these are the original plugs. I did run a can of B12 Chemtool in 3/4 tank of gas (30 gal tank) and burned 1/2 tank before pulling these two plugs. I think the hardest part of the change with this method will be getting the impact gun on the back plugs on either side. Got plenty of nickel anti-seize on the new plugs prior to install.
Truck starts easier and idles smoother with just two plugs replaced. I'll order the rest from Amazon.

Mine lasted 134k miles and could've probably done more if I hadn't chaned them out...lol. The top pic shows 2 of my worst ones...lol. And the bottom pic shows a brand new plug. See the huge gap difference after 134k miles?!...lol. Ford also recommends that you change em at 60k miles now instead of 100k.

Yikes! Brother I would recommend purchasing the Lisle tool just in case! I used an impact on mine but I refuse to work on a hot or warm engine. Just kind of old school I guess.
