Default Im back, 05 Lariat in the club!!

Hey guys so I promise better pics, but you know what a stock truck looks like.

I searched for a while, ended up having to get 2wd, but besides the occasional ramp visit I should be fine for what I do.

So heres the plan:

New grill( Im looking, but if someone has a Saleen grill they dont want, please PM now as I will buy it, I am ready to go)
Black out headlights
18" or 20" black, thinking going 9" width, just need to figure out the offset
Kenwood or Pioneer navigation w/ Backup camera

Now the big one, The Lift. I have been searching like an animal and need your help big time. I dont want anything crazy, 2.5" to 3", and I especially want absolutely no issues with alignment. Had that on my last sports car, and this truck I want the tires to actually last. How high can I go safely, and direct me where to go please. To much 4x4 info, and I am getting confused, not having enough 4x2 info.

I found this kit, and i have worked with this company before and they were pretty good. Am I on the wrong path looking at this:

One thing I can tell you is, don't go past 2.5" in the front. At 3", you'll be constantly destroying front end parts, especially upper ball joints. Those angles would definitely be severe.

To play it safe, I'd put a 1.5" to 2" level in the front and stick a 2" block in the rear.

Do you want it dead level or do you want to leave a little rake for towing?

Nice truck!

Totally different trucks, I know, but I'm 2wd with a stock 4x4 2" block in the rear and Monroe quick struts with a 1/2" spacer up front. I'm at about a stock 4x4 stance with 2.5" of rake.

Thanks man, I appreciate the response. I will stay away from 3" then. I def like the rake for towing. So if I go 2.5" in front(how do I do that haha??, what do I buy?), what would I do to the rear to keep the rake(again, where would I purchase this??)

Get some billsteins or some Rancho quick lifts for the front. Or, if you want to spend less, just get a 2.5" spacer for the front.

If you want some rake, get the 3" rear block.

I'd go measure from the center of your wheel cap to the fender arch in all 4 corners. See exactly where you are now and how much rake you have, and then order the right parts.

I think too many just pull the trigger and order before taking measurements. Then they wonder why they have the bulldog stance haha. All trucks don't sit alike. Some have more rake, some have less.

Glad to help!

Ps, if you want a pair of 3" blocks for the rear, I have a used set I had on my truck for about a year, if I can find them, I'll give you a great deal. You'd just need to get yourself some longer u bolts.

I am about 22 1/2" rear, and 20" in the front from center cap to wheel arch. I would be interested in the blocks, but I have no idea where to buy anything right now. I am coming from the sports car world, so I dont know much of where to get all the goodies.

If I get the 3" rear blocks, I guess I need to get a 2" level kit so keep the rake?

For the front, you could get something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/231530489516

It mounts on top of your coilover and it easy to do. It's the cheapest and easier way to lift the front end.

But if you think your front shocks are past their prime, it may be a good idea to get something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/201334522814 which is a taller shock and will lift you about 2".

To give you an idea, my truck in the pic above is 25" in the rear and 22.75" in the front. Tires are smaller, 245/70r17 (30.5").

You think the fronts should be 2.5"? The rears, what should I get? I am sorry for all the questions, but trucks are such a different ball game.

What size tires do you want to eventually have? I'd personally go for 2". The kits sometimes end up lifting a tiny bit more.

Just depends on if you want to keep your current front shocks. How many miles on the truck and are they original?

And dot worry about it. I know it's totally different than what you were used to. Eventually all of this will become easy for you.

It's pretty simple stuff. For the front there are leveling shocks or leveling spacers. For the rear there are blocks that you stuck between the leaf pack and axle.

I am probably going to run 18x9, with some decent size tires. I like thicker rubber so gotta read what most are running for a daily driver.

The truck has 90k on it, so eventually I will get new shocks, but their still good now. I am thinking 2" leveling spacers front, but I guess 3" blocks rear, but can't seem to find where to purchase these anywhere?
