My '05 didn't 'auto crank' but my '07 does. Came as a shock the first time I realized it was doing it though, I thought something was wrong.

I did try it this morning and it's not on my truck so it looks like it started in 07.

Some sort of convienience perhaps?

For me, this falls into the "why is there the option for pedal adjustment?" I never understood why this option was available...wouldn't sliding the seat up/back be the adjustment to reach the pedals?

I can see the adjustable pedals...for people that need more room between the steering wheel and their stomach ...
