Default Ignition Key Stayed in the crank position 2008

Just thought I should post this because went to start my truck yesterday and the key stayed in the crank position and the truck wouldn't start. I had purchased a fuel pump driver module a couple of years back because I was told they fail do to the way ford mounted them against metal and alum. but never got around to doing that. Once I replaced the module and charged the battery back up enough it fired right up. Thought I would post this because I almost replaced the key tumbler thinking it was defective, would have never dreamed that the fuel driver module could keep the key in the " crank position" ?. At least it failed in my driveway, and that I'm thankful for.

LOL...our trucks had this auto crank function...it will crank till it starts... glad you fixed your problem but, the FPDM did not make your key stay in the crank position...

Sorry you don't think that a defective fuel pump driver module could keep a F150 2008 cranking after turning the key to start and letting go of the key. I tried it about 10 times till almost the battery was dead. Replaced the module and truck was back to normal start mode. Never acted like that before, and hasn't done it since it was replaced. Thought that was very unusual, that's why I decided to post it.

You stated the key stayed in crank position...all you have to do is tap it in the crank position and let go ...the key will return to the run position and still be cranking the motor till it starts..

I don't think my truck does that. I have to hold it in crank mode until it starts and then let it return to the run position. I'm gonna have a good laugh this morning when I leave for work and it actually does what you say. I'll report back.

I noticed it as soon as I got my truck. You don't have to hold the key forward to crank over, just turn the key until it starts cranking and let go. It will crank until it starts.
