If you have a factory subwoofer please read
My 07 FX4 does not have a factory sub BUT im installing a sub and amp.
My question is... "With a factory sub does your factory radio have a seperate channel to adjust the subwoofer?"
I know there are two extra wires that plug into the back of the factory head unit if you have a factory sub. If one of these adds a seperate channel to the sub alowing you to control the sub then I can install my aftermarket sub on its own channel (instead of incorporating in with the rear speakers).
Any input would help.
Thanks

so your factory subwoofer is incorporated in with the rear channel i'm assuming?
So installing a aftermarket sub/amp I would have to use a line output converter im guessing. ...I was trying to avoid that...

Actually, it does have a seperate output, but the OP is SOL anyway. The audiophile head unit has a third connector that supplies the low passed signal and turn on for the factory sub (the door speakers are also high passed). Your non-audiophile head unit does not have provisions for the sub connections.

so if my truck is equiped with the wiring harnes under the rear seat, could i plug it into the back of the head unit and tap into the + and - sound signal and remote wire at the end of the harness?
and i would just hook up my 12v amp wire to the battery and ground it normally.
basically what im asking is can i get the sound signal from the harness wires under the rear seat if i plug it into the back of the head unit?
