Darn.... the old style still has an IAC valve

My only other suggestion would be MAF you could try and clean it do you have a K&N or other fliter that uses oil?

I would start with cleaning the MAF and TB. Without it throwing a code I doubt its a sensor on the blink. since it happens while turning, check your voltage as the power steer would take some power to operate... perhaps see how that alternator is doing and battery voltage as I don't believe that would throw a code.

Huh? Power steering on these trucks is hydraulic, not electric. It won't affect voltage at all unless it's causing severe belt slippage, in which case he would hear it.

Raise the idle on your edge up, in about 50 rpm increments. ... If it jumps from 300 to 500 rpm's or more from a 50 rpm bump, then your throttle body itself could be the problem..
I'd still clean it just incase there is something restricting the butterflies range of movement...

Had to do the same with my TB, except my idle was usually around 500 rpm's, and sometimes a bit lower then that.. My symptoms were: Stalling when braking, random stalling while driving/coasting, coming around corners, and stop light stalling.. Truck ran great otherwise..

OP, you definitely need to clean your throttle body. Even if you don't think it's that clogged, clean it.

I had this same problem and it got really bad about a month or two ago. Every time I slowed down at a light, the RPM's fluctuated. When slowing and turning, they'd go down to 200-300. It died on me a couple of times, once while turning at an intersection.

I tried raising the idle RPM on my edge up by 100 and it would still manage to get too low.
First things done were new spark plugs and new fuel filter (both needed to be done anyways). It helped a little, but not enough. It didn't die anymore at that point.
Then the throttle body was cleaned. Since then, it's been wonderful. Drives so much better now and idles perfectly.

Hope this helps!

youre correct, it was before 0600 and didnt have a coffe yet to clear the fog. should deffinitely hear the belt if its slipping. that being the case i would start with the TB. if thats not the case it cant hurt it to be cleaned and will avoind needing to do so again for a while.

on pot #2 now
