With that backspacing you are looking at a 33" tire I believe, wait for Wxmcpo before you decide though.

He is one of the members here. Sort of the unofficial tire guru.

I'm running the new BFG A/T 305/65R17 on a 17x8 rim, and I've not had any problems.

These guys give me wayyyyyyyyy too much credit.

First off is your truck 2WD or 4WD? Do you have any sort of leveling kit/lift on it at all? On a stock 2WD you can't go any higher than a 31" tire, add a leveling kit and you can fit 33's. On a stock 4WD you can go with 33's, add a leveling kit and you can throw on some 35's.

The stock wheel size for the newer model trucks is 7.5" with 5.5" of BS. So with going with an 17x9 aftermarket wheel with 4.75" of BS your wheel will be .75" further under the fenderwall, but it'll actually stick out .75" further from under the fenderwall. Does that make sense?

Since your wheel will actually be .75" further inside your wheel well I wouldn't suggest going with too wide of a tire or you could have some rubbing issues. I certainly wouldn't recommend anything wider than a 12" tire. The size depends on the factors I wrote above. You could probably run a 305/65r17 on there if you have a stock 4WD or a 2WD with a leveling kit.

Let us know what you decide to go with.
