Default I need more power!

OK... I drive a 2006 F-150 4x4 with the 4.6 V8 - I am running 35" tires. Have re-geared to 4.56's. I have an Edge Evolution programmer, K&N Cold Intake and a single Flowmaster Super 44... My truck is great for my every day driving... However, when I tow my Toy Hauler (Around 9,000 lbs.) it struggles on big hills. The Gearing definitely helped, but it still sucks doing 40mph on a hill and having Semi's pass me! What should be my next upgrade(s) to get some much needed power?

Also, anyone know the safe operating temperatures for the engine and trans? They're getting pretty hot when I am pulling the hills... I've had the engine around 240 degrees and the trans at 260 degrees according to my programmer...

Thanks for the suggestions...

Well, I would send you Edge to Bill at Power Hungry Peroformance and have him upgrade it to a Gryphon. Then, tell him what you need with the towing and he can write you a tow tune and have him pgive you a performance tune while you are at it.

I would get some custom tunes from php (i havent yet but i hear great things and my buddy had his done) add a throttle body spacer might help a little bit but its only 65 or 70 bucks for one ive only had my engine to 220 and that was when i blew the heater hose in two i cant remember what safe parameters are and i cant find anything on it. trans has only been to 200 pullin a 7x14 enclosed fully loaded. but i would guess thats a little to hot. but i would consider some indepth motor work maby a stage 2 set of heads, and and e-fan would help, some long tube headers, crank, cam, but then again you could just but a diesel and have a good workhorse you can lift and modify to your liking and never be disappointed with what you have. Or trade you truck in and get a 5.4 and modify that

Default Too Hot

That trans is too hot i would get a trans cooler (i think troyer has one) and change the trans oil becuase you probably messed the oil up! I would get a tune for you towing! As far as power this has been debated be4 but you can look into an sts turbo or some other forced induction! Hope that helps!

And no TB spacer, they don't do a thing. That $$ is your revamp to a gryphon or at the very least a tank of gas.

I had my gears done at So. Cal Super Trucks in San Bernardino, Ca... It was $1,600.00 Total for both the front and rear. I dropped it in the morning and it was done later that afternoon...
