Default I have $800 to spend

Now that appearance/performance mods are done I'm now looking to start a few audio mods. I have about $800 that I'm looking to spend initially to get a good head unit installed. I don't need navigation because I have a Garmin nuvi 360 for that. I have been looking on ebay at a couple different units, such as;

http://cgi.ebay.com/CLARION-MAX675VDII-DVD-CD-DOUBLE-DIN-MAX675VD-7-LCD-07_W0QQitemZ250184920898QQihZ015QQcategoryZ32825QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/JENSEN-VM9022-2-DIN-6-5-LCD-w-DVD-CD-SD-MP3-BLUETOOTH_W0QQitemZ300168263991QQihZ020QQcategoryZ 32825QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-DDX6019-DDX-6019-DOUBLE-DIN-DVD-CD-6-95-NEW_W0QQitemZ140178726069QQihZ004QQcategoryZ32825Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Those ones are under my limit, but that gives me enough to buy the accessories I may need (wiring harness & mounting kit?) and also allows for maybe some speakers possibly. I come to you guys because I'm not sure which system is the best out there for my price range and I'm not exactly sure of everything I'll need to install a system (I've never installed a system in any vehicle I have ever owned myself). I'm a real novice at audio because it just has never really been a big priority for me so I'm hoping some of the more knowledgable folks her can help me out. Thanks

Default first...

I would purchase a good set of earplugs. That way you may still be able to hear when you are older. That is if you crank the volume...

Out of those 3 I HIGHLY recommend the Kenwood. I've never really cared for the sound or the picture quality on the Clarions and I have a friend that had a Jensen and it's a piece of junk. That's a sick Kenwood too!!! Definitely and awesome choice!!

And to add to that....the total price for mine was $825 and that inlcudes overnite shipping and an iPOD hookup so the unit would have actually been $700 if I didn't get the iPOD hookup and upgrade the shipping. You won't be disappointed with the Kenwood.

Go with the kenwood! Thats what I had in my Navigator and it was awesome! It is the best screen I have ever owned and it was the same exact model. You will love it! And he is correct, the jensens stop working properly after about a year, I had one in a mustang for about 6 months and never drove the car and I gave it to my fiance and now the volume wont go up or down and the motor in the screen wont hardly work.

Since they gave you some advice for the head units, if you still got the funds for looking into speakers/subs I would check out these:

Infiniti Kappa series speakers and Image Dynmics subs. Ebay has EXCELLENT prices on both of those as well and from my research they are top notch quality. Good luck, and keep us up to date!

Thanks for the responses. I really have to decide if I want to do this right now or not. When I think about it I'm just not in my truck for very long periods of time out here, not like back when I was in CONUS. To give you an idea of the difference in my driving out here vs back when I was in MS. I have had my truck out here now for about 7 weeks and I have yet to put 1000 miles on it and I am only on my 3rd tank of gas and I just put that in Saturday night. Back in MS, I easily drove 1500 miles every month and alot of times even more. The last 4 months I lived there I put over 11k miles on the truck. Luckily Hawaii will help me get my mileage back on par with the average.

Check out the Avic-d2 before you purchase anything.

I would go with the Kenwood out of those selections.
