I HATE my chrome girlle surround.....
Newbie here.
Please help, really want my grille surround color matched and don't want to drop $450 plus at a local dealer to get a primed one. Can anyone help me find a cheap replacement? I have an 08 SC Red with honeycomb insert. Let me know if you all need any other info. Thanks.

The $450.00 the dealer is quoting you is for the primered outer ring AND honeycomb grille; they do not sell the pieces seperately. Your only choice is to find one used; keep checking the junkyards, ebay, craigslist, or these forums "sales and trades" section for the outer ring.
Eventually you will find one. Having yours painted is an option; a paint shop can paint over chrome, but it requires a bit of prep work.

Check out JCWhitney, Realtruck, Stylin'Trucks, etc. One of the best places I found for replacement parts was LMC Trucks. You can get one there and paint it to cut cost a little bit. I don't know how a painted-over chrome grill would look....

I painted mine myself granted my truck is black so it was easy to color match, i just removed the grill masked off my ford logo sanded and cleaned the chrome outer ring painted it black about 4-5 times let dry and then clear coated it about 4-5 times looks awesome and probably cost me about 25 dollars
