So today CEl came on. I went to autozone and I got P0012 bank 1 retarded.

So from what I have read it could be the vct? Can bad cam phasers cause this too?

I have had the truck for about 3 weeks and the idle has slowley started to get more rough. I figured I could live with the cam phasers for a while but after this I think i'm going to take it in.

I'm waiting for my extended warranty paperwork to be finished before I can take my truck to the dealer.

And as for warranty Is this usually covered by it? What could they pull to say it's not covered. I just want to be prepared when I go in.

I can't remember what the code I got but it was bank 2 retarded. I took it to where I bought my truck. They replaced the vct's and acuators. I have not had any problems since and it has been about a month. It was completely covered by the warranty.

The only thing I would worry about it what oil filter is on the truck when you take it in. Only motorcraft is the safest bet.

I only use motorcraft filters. They are the best. Well I hope they get it figured out when I take it in.
