Default Hypertech Max Energy settings questions....

looking for input on typical or suggested settings with a hypertech max energy on a 2009 F150 supercrew.

For the important variables, I put on some new shoes, BFG AT 275/70/18's and picked up this hyptertech tuner in a trade for the sole purpose of speedo calibration...

Little did I realize, till after having the tires installed that I would also need to take into account the shifting rpms for the transmission

two questions, one, anyone else put 33's on their 2009 f150 or similar and have a hypertech max energy tuner, tweaked tranny settings that stabilized or improved gas mileage and if so, what are your settings

second question, is there a formula and would it hold in relation to the stock shift points with the stock tires, figure out the variable and apply it to the tire size change to come up with a supposed co-equal shifting strategy? original tires 265/60/18, replacement tires 275/70/18...now to find the original shift points...

Hypertech Max Energy Programmer will reclibrate your speedometer & odometer when you program for the 33" tires. Program in 33" for the 275/70/18 tires that you added. Once you do that it will reset your shift points back to factory settings.
Thanks,
Gary @ Hypertech

Thanks,

Thanks Gary.

That is what I did but with the larger tires, you can feel it in the shifting. Feels like it needs to compensate for the larger tires, is that not correct?

This is what the HYPERTECH Max Energy Programmer does when you program in the correct tire height. If it does not do this call tech support at Hypertech.
Thanks, Gary
