Default humming or buzzing

OK here we go. I have a 04 screw console shift 4x4. When the truck is in drive setting at a light with your foot on the brake it make a humming or buzzing sound. It seem to be coming from the dash.or console not sure. I have asked about this before with no out come. Surely this isn't the only truck that is doing this. When you put it in any other gear it gos away. Also when you take off it fades away. Was doing it only when it cold outside but that not the case anymore just has to be cool outside. Don't want to take it to the dealer to chase it down that could be costly. If you put it in a warm building it will quit doing it. ANY HELP

I have this same issue with my 2005 FX4. I had not noticed it when I first bought the truck about a year ago, but around mid-winter I noticed it. I have yet to figure out what it is. Has anybody else figured it out?

I did some more research and found this site that has a couple of options. I haven't had a chance to check any of them on my truck, but if you have time you might want to check out the site I linked below. Let me know what you find out.

I had the same noise. Do you guys have the factory CD6 dash unit?

Ever since I replaced my radio - the noise has not re-appeared.

So, if you turn off the radio, the sound goes away? Seems like an easy try to see if that's the problem.

Nope. Sound continues if the radio is off. But that's where it seemed to be, and now that the radio is gone, I don't hear it anymore.

Yes I have the 6 in dash CD player. Did yours do the same as mine as I described in my first post? If so I guess I could pull the fuse on the radio to see if that works.

I also have the factory CD6. I didn't even think that it might be the radio. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info.

Yup. It did the same thing. I've got a new Pioneer in there, and voila - no more noise.
