Default Hp tuning-

Has anyone had their vehicle tuned on site by HP tunings software? Two shops tune Fords using hptuners software but i was wondering is there a guideline or limits they follow when tuning? Can i get the same tuning from them than from vmp or php? Im just wondering if the guy that tunes follows a script from hptuners or does it all on his own?

The software or platform isn't critical. They're simply a means to the end.

The CRITICAL part of the journey is the experience of the guy writing the tunes. By experience, I mean with F150s. A good 'stang tuner is not necessarily a good F150 tuner.

Something else to consider. While a dyno tune from an experienced tuner is the best you can get, if you use your truck for towing hauling, you will want more than one custom tune. This means you really want to have a programmer capable of storing multiple tunes: stock, 87 or 91+ performance, and 87 or 91+ towing. Most programmers can store stock plus three customs.

thanks. I was wondering if it was just a platform they use and the tuner is the one that actually makes all the changes. The ideal thing would be to have a programmer with different tunes saved.

Then you should consider Power Hungry Performance, VMP Tuning, or 5Star Tuning and an Edge/Gryphon or SCT.

All three programmers offer e-mail or downloadable custom tunes and various tuner platforms

I just picked up an SCT for cheap. Model 3015 for just over $300. From a local guy here in Houston Tx. I can get the same deal if you are interested. IN fact, I could pass his info onto you and you could work out costs and shipping (should fit in a USPS Priority box easily). SCT all the way. I had an Evo prior and wish I wouldnt have wasted the cash on that and just got an SCT to start with. But, now I know. Good luck!
