it's the part underneath the shifter, with a little white tab on it, when you push your foot on the brake, it goes down allowing you to shift. correct?
well i would just take the shifter out, it comes out with 4 bolts, and 1 or 2 wiring connectors, and then you can pop off the shifter cable and unhook it from the front. MAKE sure to put the truck in drive, then pop off the cable, and take it out. should be easy to swap it then. here's a pic of the shifter out, you can see 2 bolts, then 2 more on the other side. if you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it in, if you were to break the retaining clip on the front part that holds the cable in position, your looking at another 45 bucks. i would guess 1/2 labor to install the solenoid
#3 just take a wide flat tipped screwdriver and slide it between and twist carefully, it will pop right off, it will take a good amount pressure, you won't break it
#4 slip a tiny flat head and pry up on the tab and the cable slides right up and out
here this help ya?
