Easy thing to do first is pop out the rubber grommet on the bottom of the shield and adjust the e brake pads. Drawing the pads in will free them from hanging the rotor up from coming off. typically they will wear a lip on the rotor causing the rotor to be "stuck". I could tell the pads were hanging the rotors up from coming off because I could hear and feel the pads moving when I'd try to pull off the rotor. I figured all this out after beating the crap out my rotor for an hour...

Yep same here. One time it took a few minutes but it came off.

Default Worked like you said

The rotors came of great! Now I am questioning the torque settings front and back including the spindle nut torque setting in the front. This Chilton book does not make sense. Or I am not understanding it.
what do you have for caliper front and back?

Thanks,

Michael

It's so much nicer using this method. Guys and customers in the shop see you doing it and think you might know what you're doing afterall... Rather than everyone seeing the poor ape beating the $#!T out of their vehicle. There's a few videos on YouTube of this method, with grade 8 bolts and using two nuts and two washers on each bolt. Works like a charm.

I am fairly certain the Chilton manual has the proper torque specifications. That is what I used when I did this procedure. If you can't figure it out let me know and I will look it up in my manual. The torque specs should be at the end of whatever chapter details this brake pad-change job

Hello, im having trouble with the removal of my rotors. I will try this method tomorow. I looked at the rear of my shield and there is no access to the ebrake adjuster? Im assuming its self adjusting? Am i right, i don't want to break parts using this method, thanks.

Its self adjusting. But there should be a rubber plug on the back that you remove to get at the e-brake adjuster.
