Default How much is to much when it comes to re gearing?

I believe I have 3:73's thinking of goin to 4:11's or something a little lower than that. How much is to much I plan to run a 6 in lift later on and 38's but I want to feel a bit more off the line pull than stock even with the 38's what's a good ratio to go with.

For 38" tires, 4.88 would be best. Might be needing a bit more than 6" of lift to fit 38's but thats a different story. Should cost north or $1500 for the front and rear gears (4x4).
