Default How much do you tow with your truck????

I am purchasing a 2016 30' Grand Design Reflection travel trailer and I am wondering if I would be ok to tow with it? So I am wondering what others on here are towing in the 9,000 - 11,000 lb range. The trailer is 8,435 lbs unloaded and can weigh up to 9,985 lbs with a tongue weight of about 940 lbs.

I am wanting to add airbags, larger tranny pan, larger rear diff pan and add a temp gauge directly into the tranny pan.

I have the 4R70W transmission and have heard that Ford Racing uses this tranny in the Mustangs and other racing vehicles with great luck.

Please let me know what you do and post pictures!!

What are you towing with? I pull a 27' keystone that weighs 6k loaded. It pulls it good but not great. I have the 5.4 tow package and 373 gears. I've added a Edge Evo over the winter so I'm hoping for better results when towing.

9k is doable until you hit some hills. Then you're truck will probably be begging for mercy.

you're pushing the limits of the 1/2 ton truck at this weight. I can't say to do it or not. My truck has the beefy towing package on it for the gen (3.73, class IV hitch, trans cooler). The highest towing that I can do according to Ford is 9,500 lbs. This one will be a roll of the dice.

I towed just under 7,500lbs and had to have over drive off the entire 1000 mile trip just to keep up...although I do run 35's with a tuner which I know helped out.

I push the limits with my trailer being 6100 dry, and close to 8000 fully loaded. Depending on how much crap I load, I'm getting close to the GVCW rating of something like 14000 (truck+trailer). I added airbags and regeared to 4.56 rear diff.. I do ok, but already lost the transmission (not while towing). The thing about it, that I discovered after the getting the F150 to tow my trailer, is the anxiety about constantly worrying about your weight sucks. If possible, consider getting a bigger truck.

Agreed on the Superduty. I also have the "towing package", most I've done was right around 8k. Huge steel grinder from my plant, it weighed around 6k and the trailer around 2k. Hated every minute of it....

Not to say that this truck can't tow, but once you start pushing the limits, it starts to show it.
