Yea 1000 degrees. That's the high setting on my heat gun that I bought. It's not as hot as you think.

I wounder if my heat gun will get that hot. All I got is some 10 year old one from harbor freight or something like that. Ill have to try tommorow

I did this a while back and it only lasted about 2 months in the hot southern sun.
