Default Alarm

I have just got a 2005 F-150 and love it. I am wondering if the system that comes on the truck is sufficent to prevent theft. I know without the special key it wont start but does that truly prevent it from being stolen?

Thanks for the info,

Brian

With a tow truck I can steal almost any vehicle. It just depends on how much the bad guy wants it.

if it were a dodge 20 feet after you stole it the ball joint would snap and leave you stranded.

If they want it bad enough they will take it. No alarm will stop a professional. Just as G Man said. Alarms are more a deterent for the common criminal who would rather take your personal belongings.

I added an aftermarket alarm to my truck and I know it has prevented break-ins on at least 2 occassions. I would recommend getting a good alarm because the system on the truck isn't an alarm and won't do anything to help prevent someone breaking in and stealing any of your personal belongings. No alarm is 100% if the theif really wants something in your truck or your truck, but they do help deter theft IMO.
